Located in the First Baptist Church of Decatur Gym, the Fun Zone brings together some of Atlanta’s most exciting cultural organizations and youth-focused programs for an afternoon packed with interactive fun.

What to Expect
Atlanta History Center

Join Atlanta History Center to learn how ink was made in the 1800's. AHC staff will help you mix up your own batch of ink, show you how to write with a quill, then bottle up the rest of your ink so you can practice at home.
Bouncy Houses

Let off some energy in our colorful inflatable bouncy houses. These are always a crowd favorite and a perfect break between activities.
Children's Museum of Atlanta

Join the Children’s Museum of Atlanta for a hands-on origami experience! Kids will learn simple folding techniques to create their own colorful origami pieces. Each child will be able to take home their creations — a special keepsake they’ve made with their own hands. This activity is designed to spark creativity, encourage focus, and give children a fun way to explore the art of paper folding.
Color Wheel Studio

Color Wheel Studio invites you to join them in making two different art projects. The first is a collaborative installation that celebrates self-expression through typography and the power of words. The next project is a take-home piece of functional art perfect for book lovers of all ages.
Decatur Fine Arts Academy

Drop by the Decatur Fine Arts Academy table to play with colorful ribbon wands and create your own art project to take home! DFAA provides high-quality, accessible music and arts education in the heart of downtown Decatur, and we'd love to meet you!
Decatur Makers

Unleash your inner maker with Decatur Makers! Kids can get creative decorating wood and acrylic shapes, and get a peek at some cool maker tools in action, like a mini laser cutter!
Decatur Robotics - Beacon Hill Middle School

Team Rocket is a competitive robotics team from Beacon Hill Middle School that competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), where students design, build, and program robots to tackle unique challenges. Along the way, they build lasting skills in engineering, coding, teamwork, and problem-solving. We rely on community support to fund tools, parts, and competition costs—every donation helps! Meet the team, see our robot, and learn how to support us at https://shorturl.fm/vELxZ.
