About

ree

Ruby Velle & The Soulphonics are not just revivalists of old-school music; they are innovators, bringing a fresh contemporary sheen to classic sounds.

Led by powerhouse singer Ruby Velle, the band delivers deep, raw funk, Stax-style Southern soul, and uplifting Motown-inspired anthems. Known for their captivating live performances, they seamlessly blend sweet R&B tunes with high-energy, dance-inducing tracks, making every show a memorable experience.

"It's About Time," the full-length debut album from the group, has been making waves around the globe since its 2012 release. Dubbed “The Queen of Southern Soul” (per WABE’s Lois Reitzes), Velle and her band bring classic sounds glimmering with a fresh, modern sheen. It’s this inviting and accessible bravado that has scored the band critical acclaim from outlets such as The New York Daily News, MTV, Paste and more. In honor of the 10th anniversary, it was remastered in a small batch of 350 copies.

Now, they're gearing up to release their third studio album in 2026 so stay tuned for new singles starting this fall!
