Join Jonah McDonald, Charles Seabrook, Ann Litrel, and Zana Pouncey as they explore Georgia’s most stunning natural treasures. Their books, Hiking Metro Atlanta’s Hidden Forests: An Hour or Less from Downtown and 35 Natural Wonders of Georgia to See Before You Die, offer practical guides and inspiring stories that bring the state’s outdoors to life. Moderator Gary Hauk will lead a discussion on the importance of nature conservation and regional history.
Following the panel, authors will proceed to signing tables to autograph books.

About the Moderator

A writer, editor, ethicist, and historian, Gary Hauk served Emory University for more than thirty years as vice president and senior adviser to the president. In 2015 he was named the first official historian of the university. Author or editor of more than two dozen books, he most recently published Holy Saturday: A Memoir of Loss and Hope (Secant, 2025). With a PhD in religion from Emory, he has BA and MA degrees in English and a divinity degree. He retired from Emory in 2020 but continues to work as a freelance editor and writer.
