About
BOOM! Trio formed in 2022 when a group of Atlanta’s busiest musicians decided to come together to play a certain style of music that isn’t easily represented. Their love of the funk and soul music that skirts the outer rim of jazz has informed their live repertoire. Their newly recorded original material has been likened to Butcher Brown, Joshua Redman’s Elastic Band, Charlie Hunter, Soulive, and many other acts that are now being known as a genre dubbed “Alternative Jazz”.
As individuals, The BOOM! Trio have toured and performed with a wide range of artists, including: The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra, Larkin Poe, Angie Stone, Father John Misty, The Floozies, Roy Ayers, Kurt Elling, Marcus Roberts, The Shadowboxers, and Dee Dee Bridgewater.
BOOM! Trio released their first album in March of 2024. Recorded in Atlanta, and mixed by the incredible Alan Evans (of SOULIVE), it’s set to showcase the heights the group routinely reach in their live shows.
