Tara Y. Coyt

Tara is an award-winning artist, author, entrepreneur, and marketing strategist. Her book “Real Talk About LGBTQIAP” received the 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Award. She also received the Atlanta Business League Super Tuesday Outstanding Business Achievement award, Atlanta Daily World Women of Excellence award, and is a Walter Kaitz Foundation Fellow. Tara’s paintings and photographs have exhibited with Atlanta Photography Group, Georgia Nature Photographers Association, the National Afro American Museum, among others. Non-profit board appointments have included Atlanta Writers Club and Atlanta Technical College Foundation. Tara is a member of PEN America, Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, and the Georgia Committee for the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She also established the Tara Coyt Publishing Fund for Scholars Chronicling the Black Experience. Tara holds a BS in Natural Sciences from Xavier University and an MBA in Marketing from The Ohio State University.
