Adventure Cats: Living Nine Lives to the Fullest

Just when you thought you knew all there was to know about cats comes the ultimate—and unexpected—guide to taking your cat into the wild: Adventure Cats: Living Nine Lives to the Fullest (May 2017; Workman Publishing) by Laura J. Moss. Here are cats walking on leashes. Cats hiking on leashes. Cats romping in the snow. Cats camping. Cats kayaking, canoeing, even surfing! No meowntain is off limits for these brave felines!

Sweet, surprising, and informative, Adventure Cats reminds readers that kitties can do so much more than cat nap, and that following a cat’s natural tendency to wander allows for a richer, more mindful outdoor experience. A collection of jaw-dropping yet adorable photographs, step-by-step how-tos, and inspiring real-life stories, Adventure Cats proves that dogs aren’t the only pets that get to have all the fun.

In Adventure Cats, readers will learn the basics for exploration with a cat in tow:

· How to leash train a cat

· What to do when encountering wildlife on the trail

· How to read feline body language

· Safety tips for traveling, camping, winter hikes, and exploring cities, including the 14 essentials you need for every outing

· How to travel with cats via planes, trains, and automobiles!

Not sure if your cat is an adventure cat? There’s a quiz to find out, plus tips on how to bring a little bit of the outdoors to an indoor cat. Adventure Cats also introduces readers to amazing felines like Nanakuli, the one-eyed cat who hangs ten; Jesper, the Norwegian kitty who loves trotting alongside his owner as she cross-country skis; Floyd the Lion, who scales the red rocks of Utah; and Bela, the Brooklyn kitty who loves urban exploring.

It’s time to let cats live their nine lives to the fullest!
