In just over a decade, the annual AJC Decatur Book Festival has become the largest independent book festival in the United States. Since its inception, the DBF draws tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country to downtown Decatur and hundreds of authors from all over the world, proving that the love of books and of literature is alive and well. Festival-goers enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children’s area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, and more.
The DBF Round Table supports the festival and membership ensures a seat at the table for year-round book festival events and VIP treatment. In previous years, members have enjoyed private receptions with authors including Roy Blount Jr., Max Cleland, Paula Deen, John Lewis, and Salman Rushdie, and signed first editions of Roy Blount Jr.’s book, Long Time Leaving — Dispatches from Up South and Ted Turner’s book, Call Me Ted.
The DBF is a community based non-profit that counts on your donations to operate each year. As a 501(c)3, the annual membership of $1000 is tax deductible. Complete the form to join and pay via credit card or request that we invoice you.
