IRA Charitable Rollover
Use Your IRA to Support the Decatur Book Festival! If you're 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free donation directly from your Traditional or Roth IRA to the Decatur Book Festival. You can donate up to $100,000 per year from your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) without incurring federal income tax on the withdrawal. It’s a win-win—you support the festival, and you reduce your taxable income! To make a gift, simply direct your IRA custodian to send your donation directly to the Decatur Book Festival. This allows you to avoid income tax on the distribution while immediately benefiting our festival's programming and outreach. Eligibility and Benefits: - You must be 70½ or older to qualify. - The donation must be made directly from your IRA to the Decatur Book Festival; withdrawals you make and then donate do not qualify. - The gift can count toward your annual Required Minimum Distribution. - The full amount of your donation will be credited to you.
