The World Without Us
Alan Weisman’s The World Without Us continues to get great buzz, something that couldn’t happen if his thought experiment came true. The question: What would happen on Earth if every single human being was suddenly gone? (Raptured, alien transported, removed from the Matrix, or however we left.) When would the lights go out? When would the buildings crumble to dust? When would the ozone layer heal?
