Teen Activities

These are just a few of the great things you’ll see on the Escape Teen Stage during the weekend!

Printz award-winning, wildly international best-selling, and generally beloved author Libba Bray will be firing things up on the Teen Stage with her new Lord of the Flies-meets-Miss America novel, Beauty Queens.

Lauren Myracle, “the Judy Blume of the 21st Century,” will be sharing the complexities of her new, rooted-in-the-South dark mystery, Shine.

Just whistling “It’s the End of the World as We Know It (and I Feel Fine)” may help you get you through a zombie-or-otherwise apocalypse, but Jonathan Maberry (Rot & Ruin) and Jeff Hirsch (The Eleventh Plague) might have some better suggestions during their talk together.

Though paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy books are still quite the rage, books with real voices about real girls are just as strong. We’ll have Stephanie Perkins, Elizabeth Eulberg, and Jennifer Jabaley speaking together on how they continue to make what is real also what is relevant.

The WAKE trilogy continues to garner both popular and critical acclaim, even after its creator’s newest book Cryer’s Cross got nominated as a 212 ALA/YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults. Come hear the books’ author, Lisa McMann explain a little about why her writing is so hot!
