Emory film professor Matthew H. Bernstein looks at the infamous case of the 1913 rape and murder of Atlanta factory worker Mary Phagan -- which led to the conviction and lynching of her Jewish boss, Leo Frank -- in Bernstein's book, "Screening a Lynching: The Leo Frank Case on Film and Television." Bernstein explores how the case has played out on the screen over the years and these works have addressed issues of race, religion and class, with the help of select clips from the films.
