Gina Nahai

Gina Nahai is a best-selling author and a full-time lecturer at the University of Southern California’s Master of Professional Writing Program. Her novels have been translated into 18 languages, and have been selected as among “the Best Books of the Year” by the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribune. They have been finalists for the Orange Award, the IMPAC Award, and the Harold J. Ribalow Award. She is the winner of the Los Angeles Arts Council Award, the Persian Heritage Foundation’s Award, The Simon Rockower Award, and the Phi Kappa Phi Award. Her writings have appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Magazine, Publishers Weekly and Huffingtonpost.com, as well as in a number of literary journals and anthologies. She writes a monthly column for the Jewish Journal of Greater Los Angeles, for which she has been twice a finalist for an LA Press Club award.
Nahai holds a B.A. and a master’s degree in International Relations from UCLA and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Southern California. She’s a former consultant for the Rand Corporation and a frequent lecturer on the politics of pre- and post-revolutionary Iran.
