Brett Gadsden is assistant professor of African American studies at Emory University. He received his Ph.D. in History from Northwestern University. His book, Victory Without Triumph: School Desegregation in Delaware, is forthcoming from the University of Pennsylvania Press. He is the recipient of fellowships and grants from the National Academy of Education, Spencer Foundation, Smithsonian Institution, American Historical Association, Hagley Museum and Library, and Delaware Heritage Commission.
