The Writers Conference @ DBF, presented by Poets & Writers and Agnes Scott College. Begins Friday, August 29, at 3 p.m. with a keynote address by C. Michael Curtis and Elizabeth Cox. Agnes Scott College. A Critique Group Success Story: Karen Abbott, Joshilyn Jackson, Anna Schachner, Saturday, August 30, 5:15 p.m. at Twain's. Writers Conference Happy Hour, Saturday, August 30, 6-8 p.m. at Twain's.

Keynote Address by Billy Collins, former U.S. Poet Laureate and New York Poet Laureate. Friday, August 29, 8 p.m. Agnes Scott College’s Presser Hall.

Madeline Children's Parade, led by Ludwig Bemelman's feisty French character, Madeline, and Bemelman's grandson, John Bemelman's Marciano. Saturday, August 30, line up at 9 a.m. At the corner of Clairemont Ave. and Commerce Dr. Parade begins at 9:30 a.m.

"The Lottery," by Brooks & Company Dance, inspired by the Shirley Jackson short story. Saturday, August 30, 7 p.m., Emory University's Performing Arts Studio.
