Natalie Alhonte Braga, Senior Associate of the Ron Brown Scholar program will read from “I Have Risen.” Released in commemoration of the Ron Brown Scholar Program’s 10th anniversary, “I Have Risen - Essays by African American Youth,” is an inspirational collection of 50 essays written by Ron Brown Scholars. The collection includes the incredible stories of African American youth who have overcome numerous obstacles in their lives – from living in extreme poverty to surviving in some of America’s toughest neighborhoods – and translated those hardships into an unrelenting commitments to better the world.
