Sarah Prineas lives in the midst of the corn in Iowa City, Iowa near the Iowa River. She works at the University of Iowa in the Honors Program as a scholarship coordinator and as a lecturer in the university college. Just about every semester she gets to teach a class for the Honors Program; recently she’s taught honors seminars on J.R.R. Tolkien, on fantasy and science fiction literature, and taught group independent studies on fantasy and science fiction creative writing. She has a PhD in English literature with a concentration in RCTE (rhetoric, composition, and the teaching of English); my specialization was in eighteenth century British literature.
Sarah is married to John Prineas, a physics professor, and she says the evil device in Magic Thief bears a striking resemblance to some of his laboratory equipment. They have two little kids, Maud and Theo; Maud has read all of Magic Thief and Theo has had it read to him and they are both agitating for book two. For fun Sarah likes to write (!), play the piano, go for long walks, stay in touch with good friends via email, read, and meet new people. Sarah writes on a Mac iBook with a dragon sticker on it. This is her first novel.
