The SIBA Award is presented by the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) and is given to exceptional books that are set in the South and sold by independent booksellers.
The SIBA Book Awards will be presented on Saturday, August 30th from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m. at Decatur City Hall. All festival-goers are invited to attend the award ceremony.
2008 SIBA Book Award winners Donna Bateman, Sarah Addison Allen, and David Kirby will attend the ceremony and 2008 SIBA Book Award finalists Sue Walker, Deborah Wiles, Kerry Madden, Alan Gratz, Chef Rodney Freidank, Robert Olmstead will attend the ceremony, and each will answer questions posed by Wanda Jewell, SIBA Executive Director, and questions submitted by readers. SIBA, inspired by the popular social networking website “Twitter,” is limiting author responses to 140 characters – but reader questions can be any length.
