Celebrity Chef Paula Deen the Guest of Honor at AJC Decatur Book Festival “Friends of the Festival” Reception

Paula Deen—celebrity chef, TV show hostess, and cookbook author—was the guest of honor at a recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution Decatur Book Festival (DBF) “Friends of the Festival” reception. The event was held Monday, April 23, in the Jones Room at Emory’s Woodruff Library.

Seventy-five “Friends of the Festival” (FOTF) attended the private reception, which followed Deen’s presentation at Emory’s Glenn Memorial Auditorium. The event was open exclusively to DBF FOTF, and offered an opportunity for conversation and photos with the Southern-style cooking queen.

Daren Wang, Executive Director of DBF, said he was proud to present Deen to all “Friends of the Festival.”

“Paula Deen is a superstar in the culinary world and we were delighted and honored to have her here in Atlanta as we build toward the second Decatur Book Festival,” Wang said.

The previous “Friends of the Festival” reception featured Civil Rights legend and U.S. Representative John Lewis.
