The AJC Decatur Book Festival Announces Major Sponsors
AJC Decatur Book Festival Honored With 2006 James Patterson PageTurner Award
The second annual 2007 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Decatur Book Festival––presented by DeKalb Medical––recently announced a list of platinum, gold, silver, and bronze sponsors at the festival’s kick-off party held in Decatur restaurant Watershed. The festival will be held August 31 to September 2, 2007 in downtown Decatur.
“We are proud to work with the festival’s sponsors,” said Daren Wang, Executive Director of the AJC-DBF. “We couldn’t do it without their support.”
Along with the festival’s title sponsor, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the festival’s presenting sponsor is DeKalb Medical.
The list of the festival’s gold sponsors includes Agnes Scott College, Random House Audio, Lenz, Stone Mountain Park, and Target. The list of silver sponsors consists of the City of Decatur, Decatur Arts Alliance, Decatur Development Authority, Decatur First Bank, Emory University, Georgia Center for the Book, and Georgia Perimeter College. The bronze sponsors are the James Patterson Page Turner Awards, DeKalb Convention and Visitors Bureau, Kroger, and Kennesaw State University Press.
The 2007 AJC-DBF will be held Labor Day weekend in the downtown Decatur Square. The festival will feature 200 world-class authors, keynote addresses by Charles Frazier, best-selling author of Cold Mountain, and Kinky Friedman, American singer-songwriter, novelist, humorist, and politician, a children’s stage along with children’s activities, live music and poetry, and cooking demonstrations led by celebrity chefs.
