Terry Brooks

Considered by many to be the father of modern fantasy fiction, Terry Brooks is the New York Times bestselling author of more than twenty-five books. His latest work, "The Elves of Cintra," follows "Armageddon's Children" and is the second book in the "The Genesis of Shannara" trilogy. A writer since high school, Brooks wrote many stories within the genres of science fiction, western, fiction, and non-fiction, until one semester early in his college years, he was given "The Lord of the Rings." That moment changed Terry's life forever, because in Tolkien's great work he found in one genre all the elements needed to fully explore his own writing. Brooks was a practicing attorney for many years but now writes full-time. He lives with his wife, Judine, in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
