AJC Decatur Book Festival Announces Arianna Huffington as Keynote Speaker
Political columnist joins Michael Connelly, Emily Saliers, Touré at Inaugural Event
The AJC Decatur Book Festival (DBF) has announced Arianna Huffington as keynote speaker for the inaugural event, to be held Labor Day Weekend, September 1-3, 2006. The political columnist, TV personality, and founder of The Huffington Post Newsblog will launch her new book, “On Becoming Fearless...In Love, Work, and Life,” at the festival.
Huffington joins 100 best-selling and Pulitzer Prize winning authors—including Michael Connelly and Robert Olen Butler—at an event that will feature live music, cooking demonstrations, and an interactive children's stage.
"We are thrilled to have Arianna as our keynote speaker," said DBF executive director Daren Wang. "What a great way to open the festival!"
Huffington will speak at Presser Hall at Agnes Scott College on the evening of Friday, September 1. The festival will conclude Sunday evening with barbecue and fireworks on the downtown Decatur square.
