Transportation and Parking

With the Historic Decatur Square located directly on MARTA’s East-West transit line, transportation to the book festival couldn’t be easier! Go to www.itsmarta.com to plan your route to the festival.

If you decide to drive, parking is plentiful in decks, metered spaces, and paid private lots. Do not park in lots posted as ‘no parking.’ Your car will be booted or towed.

Important: On Sunday, September 3rd, we will conclude the festival with a fireworks display. Areas in the fireworks safety zone will close at 7:00 pm. If you do not plan to stay for the fireworks, park outside of the fireworks safety zone. There will be no entry to or exit from the fireworks safety zone from 7:00 until forty minutes after the end of the show.

Some metered parking spaces and lots will be off-limits all day Sunday. These meters and lots will be clearly marked. Cars parked in these spots will be towed.

We recommend the free parking decks and lots at Agnes Scott College, Decatur High School, Decatur Library and Town Center. The county deck and lot at Commerce and West Trinity will offer free parking all weekend but will be closed as part of the fireworks fallout area at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday night.
