Virginia Willis

Virginia Willis is a cook, author, and culinary television producer currently working on her cookbook and companion TV series Bon Appétit, Y’all! Three Generations of Southern Cooking (Ten Speed Press, 2008).

Graduate of L'Academie de Cuisine and Ecole de Cuisine LaVarenne, Virginia is the producer of Turner South’s Home Plate. Her television work includes Shirley Corriher’s Kitchen Secrets Revealed!; Epicurious on The Discovery Channel where she traveled the world taping fantastic stories about food - from harvesting capers in the shadow of a volcano to making mustard in Dijon;  and the Kitchen Director for the Emmy-award winning Martha Stewart Living Television.

Editorially, she was a tester and editor for The All-New Joy of Cooking, author of Pasta Dinners 1,2,3, co-author of Home Plate Cooking, and is a regular contributor to The Atlanta Journal Constitution. She has also contributed to the Jame Beard award-winning Nathalie Dupree’s Comfortable Entertaining as well as culinary authority Anne Willan’s Cook It Right, an exhaustive tome that documents the various states of "doneness" of everything from whipped cream to braised pheasant.
