Suzanne Van Atten

Suzanne Van Atten is a veteran journalist who has covered arts and entertainment in metro Atlanta for nearly 20 years. She is currently Northside Weekend Editor for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Previously she was A&E editor at Creative Loafing and The Marietta Daily Journal. As a writer, she's penned everything from theater, film and restaurant reviews to travel features, personality profiles and breaking news on arts funding issues. Having lived in Puerto Rico as a teenager, Ms. Van Atten was inspired to write a travel guide on the island after a visit there ended way too soon to suit her. She decided that if she was going to spend a sufficient period of time on the island, she was going to have to find a way to get paid for it. As luck would have it, Avalon Travel Publishers was looking for a writer who knew a thing or two about the island.
