Roy Blount Jr. grew up in Decatur, Georgia, and lives now in western Massachusetts. His latest book is Feet on the Street: Rambles Around New Orleans. Others include: Robert E. Lee, a biography; Be Sweet, a memoir; First Hubby, a novel; Roy Blount's Book of Southern Humor, an anthology; If Only You Knew How Much I Smell You, a dog book; and Crackers, hard to classify. His twentieth, Long Time Leaving, is scheduled to appear early next year. He is a regular panelist on NPR's Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me and president of the Authors Guild.
