Joshilyn Jackson

Bestselling novelist Joshilyn Jackson was born in the Deep South and raised by a tribe of wild fundamentalists who taught her to be virtuous and upright. Unfortunately, it didn't take, and Jackson dropped out of college to pursue a career as an actor and playwright. She eventually decided both virtue and an education were worth the work, so she went back to school to study English literature, focusing on Modern and Medieval Theater. She graduated with honors from Georgia State and went on to earn an M.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Her short fiction has appeared in anthologies and literary magazines like TriQuarterly and Calyx. Both her critically acclaimed first novel, gods in Alabama, and her second novel, Between, Georgia, were chosen as the #1 Book Sense pick for the month of their release.
Jackson lives with her husband and two children in Powder Springs, Georgia, where she is at work on her third novel, The Girl Who Stopped Swimming. You can visit her on the web at joshilynjackson.com.
