Anne Ginkel
Anne Ginkel’s love of writing began early on in life. After graduating with a B.A. in Social Science from St. Joseph’s College and an M.S. in Technical Writing from the Southern College of Technology, the New York native set her sights abroad she ventured to England where she began building the foundation of her career and finding her artistic voice.
After selling her Atlanta-based bookstore, Hobbit Hall, Ginkel found more time to put pen to paper and to create the stories for children of which she dreamt. Ginkel’s muse for her counting book, I’ve Got an Elephant, came from a well-worn, stuffed elephant named Ellie that belonged to her daughter. Ellie shared in many of the children’s escapades and toured through several countries before becoming a “family icon” and inspiring Ginkel to write her first children’s book.
Along with her love of creating stories for children, she enjoys ceramic art and is an apprentice with the Roswell Visual Arts Center West. She has two grown children and resides in Roswell, Georgia, with her husband.
